Job Description
Reporting to the CEO, this EVP of Product and Innovation will be accountable for the Portal product portfolio strategy, sales and distribution, innovation and development processes, and the execution of the brand representing a world class portfolio of Internet services and Portal. This EVP, Product and Innovation will be responsible for the executive leadership of the company’s Portal product operations as well as the company’s product and business strategy. S/he will lead and direct a team of accomplished and passionate executives representing Product Management, Development, UI Design and Marketing.
Our Client Rediff, provides online Internet based services for search, mail, news, video, music, finance, and maps focusing on India and the global Indian community. Its Web sites consist of interest specific channels relevant to Indian interests, including cricket; astrology; matchmaker and movies; content on various matters, including news and finance; search facilities; a range of community features, such as email, chat, messenger, and e-commerce; broadband wireless content; and wireless short messaging services to mobile phone subscribers in India. Key Responsibilities
· Develop, articulate and execute the product portfolio strategy to lead the growth of portal business. This will include the global product footprint
· Drive the successful operation of the company Product Portfolio (P&L’s?) through the Product Leaders that lead these businesses and the shared organizations that contribute key services to that effort
· Develop with the Head of Sales a Global distribution strategy that will meet or exceed all current revenue objectives and help build a foundation for rapid expansion of company revenues in local and key International geographies
· Successfully deliver the key operational requirements and oversee the ongoing upgrade of the product portfolio
· Lead, develop, mentor, train, and recruit a world class team of individuals at all levels of the organization
· Lead and develop the brand strategy for the website - leveraging current strengths and establishing a more concrete set of attributes for the brand with consumers globally
· Provide input into the development of company goals and objectives for corporate marketing, innovation and product development teams
· Lead, manage and develop a plan and process for driving rapid growth for the company through a vibrant innovation program

The Product Executive will ensure the organization is a world-class execution team and will apply strong demonstrated experience to making insightful business decisions and ensuring accountability for all deliverables. The focus of this position will be to execute on the companies operating objectives and to manage the operations responsible for delivering the results; and to strategically position, drive and grow the global business over both the short and long term.
The Candidate will:

· Have general management experience, skills and mindset. A strong influencer at all levels – particularly at peer group
· Be a “global” world-class, passionate consumer internet (sound product marketing and development) executive, thirsty for innovation.
· Be a product executive with experience on the revenue side of the business
· Be an observer of the consumer internet industry and be well networked. The candidate will have a view on market trends and be strategically able to make the connections between the external market developments and the consequences internally on the portal
· Have managed the ideation, creation, launch and success of a consumer product ( any kind)
· Will know what talent to hire and lead a culture interested in development (coaching culture)
· Have set up/expanded/run large scale re-seller operations
· Know what IT systems to deploy and understand the technology risks an how to contain them
· Have direct experience in setting development schedules and motivating technology developers
· Have experience working with advertising agencies to create advertising materials and worked with market research agencies.
· Have had responsibility for conceptualizing and building financial and operational processes – including information systems. Will have worked with internal and external IT teams.
· Have experience in conducting operating reviews of senior managers. Will be ready to face reality and making others face it. Can energize teams during the reviews.
